3.1 Certification. When requested by the contracting officer, the contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description {CID), and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3.2 Examination of the end item. The coats shall be inspected in accordance with MIL-STD-105. The defects found during the examination of the end item shall be classified in 3.2.1 and 3.2.2. The applicable inspection levels and acceptable quality levels (AQL’s) shall be as indicated in 3.3. The lot size shall be expressed in units of coats. Sample unit shall be one finished coat.
3.2.1 Visual examination. The coats shall be examined for defects classified in accordance with the following list:
