2.3.4 Eyelets. The eyelets shall have 1/8 to 3/16 inch diameter and shall be through the right front and sheeting interfacing spaced to correspond with the buttonholes and placed 1-1/4 (+ 178) inch from front edge. The eyelets shall not go through the facing.
2.3.5 Thread. The thread used for stitching shall be of any commercial type suitable for the purpose intended. The color of the thread shall be white.
2.3.6 Books and eyes. The hooks and eyes shall be sew-on type, Greenberg & Hammer, Inc., style number T4/0-97 or equal, steel with a nickel plated finish (see 5.3 and 5.4).
2.4 Labels. A commercial type label is acceptable provided that additional printed cloth labels containing the information in 2.4.1 and 2.4.2 are included.
2.4.1 Contract #, NSN, and size label. The coats shall have a label containing the contract number, NSN, and size, caught in the stitching of the commercial label.
2.4.2 Instruction label. The coats shall have an instruction label containing the information listed below. The label shall be stitched on the right front facing approximately 2 inches from the bottom.

2.5 Patterns. The government shall furnish a single size pattern. The contractor is responsible for grading patterns for additional sizes. The pattern generally provides a seam allowance of 3/8 inch for safety stitched seams and 1/2 inch for double needle, double lapped seams.
2.6 Product demonstration model. During the solicitation phase, interested firms shall provide the Procuring Agency with two product demonstration models of the item they propose to furnish for evaluation. The two samples provided by the successful offerer shall be tagged and sealed. One shall be retained by the Procuring Agency and the other furnished the assigned Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) for use as a reference in performing the examination in paragraph 3.2, and the scoring of defects in design, material and workmanship not otherwise classified herein.
2.7 Workmanship. After completion, the item shall be thoroughly cleaned and a loose thread, lint, and foreign matter removed. The items shall be uniform in quality and shall be free- from irregularities or defects which adversely affect appearance, performance, reliability, or durability.
