End item dimensional examination. The glove inserts shall be examined for conformance to the dimensions specified in Table I. The lot size shall be expressed in units of ~ne glove insert. The sample unit shall be one glove insert and the selection shall be by pairs. Any glove insert not within the specified tolerance shall be classified a defect.
PACKAGING
Packaging. Ten pairs of glove inserts of one size only shall be neatly stacked in a bundle and securely tied with tape or twine.
Packing. One hundred twenty pairs of glove inserts (twelve bundles) of one size only shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container conforming to RSC-L, Type CF (variety SW) or SF, class domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Inside dimensions of each shipping container shall approximate 22 inches in length, 10 inches in width, and 6-1/2 inches in depth. Four ounces of flaked naphthalene shall be uniformly distributed throughout the contents of each shipping container. Each container shall have the contents completely covered on the top and bottom with a sheet of 30-pound minimum basis weight kraft paper conforming to A-A-203. Each container shall be closed in accordance with method II as specified in the appendix of PPP-B-636.
Palletization. Gloves packed as specified shall be palletized in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147.
Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contact or purchase order, bundles, shipping containers, and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
NOTES
Intended use. The glove inserts are to be worn for added warmth with the glove shells covered by MIL-G-44419, Gloves, Men’s and Women’s, Intermediate Cold/Wet.
Ordering data. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this document.
b. Size required,
c. When palletization is required.
