2.3 Measurements. The finished measurements of the mitten shells shall be as shown below. Measurements shall be made as indicated in Figure 1. All measurements and tolerances are expressed in inches.

2.4 Patterns. The patterns for cutting the mitten shells shall be furnished by the contractor, and shall be of the proper proportions to provide mitten shells conforming to the finished measurements specified in 2.3.
2.5 Labels. A commercial type label is acceptable provided that additional printed cloth labels containing the information in 2.5.1 is included.
2.5.1 Contract #, NSN. The mitten shells shall have a label containing the contract number and NSN caught in the stitching of the commercial label.
2.6 Product demonstration model. During the solicitation phase, interested firms shall provide the Procuring Agency with two product demonstration models of the item they propose to furnish for evaluation. The two samples provided by the successful offerer shall be tagged and sealed. One shall be retained by the Procuring Agency and the other furnished the assigned Quality Assurance Representative for use as a reference in performing the examination in paragraph 3.2 and the scoring of defects in design, material and workmanship not otherwise classified herein.
2.7 Workmanship. After completion the mitten shell shall be thoroughly cleaned and all loose thread, lint, and foreign matter removed. The mitten shells shall be unifo0rm in quality and shall be free from irregularities or defects which adversely affect performance, reliability, or durability.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
3.1 Certification. When requested by the contracting officer, the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provision of the contract.
