2.2 Cloth. The back of the glove will be a napped cotton canton flannel, minimum weight 10.0 ounces per square yard, with the napped surface facing the hand. The palm, front of the fingers, and front of the thumb will be lined with cotton flannel, minimum weight 6.0 ounces per square yard when tested as specified in ASTM-D-3776. The napped surface of the lining will face the hand. The gauntlet will be composed of a two thickness plain weave construction fabric of cotton or spun polyester yarns securely bonded together with synthetic resin, synthetic rubber, or natural rubber. The bonded fabric will weigh not less than 16.0 ounces per square yard when tested as specified in ASTM-D-3776. The top edge of the gauntlet will be overedge stitched or bound with a bias cut cotton binding.
2.3 Dimensions. The finished gloves will conform to the measurements specified below. Any variation on the same pair of more than 1/4 inch for any dimension will be scored as a defect.

2.4 Labels. A commercial-type label is acceptable, provided that an additional printed cloth label containing the contractor's name, contract number, size and National Stock Number (NSN) is caught on the stitching of the commercial label. The commercial label will include fiber and laundering information.
2.4.1 Label/tag. Each item will be individually bar-coded with a paper tag for personal clothing items. The paper tag will be standard bleached sulfate having a basis weight of 100 pounds. The paper used for the tags will have a smooth finish to accept thermal transfer and direct printing. The tags will have a hole and will be attached to each item by a fastener, clearly legible and readable by a scanner. The bar coding element will be a 13 digit national stock number (NSN). The bar code type will be a medium to high code density and will be located so that it is completely visible on the item when it is folded and/or packaged as specified and so that it causes no damage to the item.
3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Product conformance. The products provided will meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and will conform to the producer's own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
4.2 Examination. Each glove will be inspected for visual and dimensional attributes in accordance with ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 - Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes, published by the American Society for Quality Control. The lot size will be
