A. 1/2 Waist relaxed: Measure across top of waistband lay flat and relaxed.
B. 1/2 Waist stretched: Measure waist stretched without distorting material or breaking stitches.
C. Seat width: Measure straight across, side to side, (at indicated point) above crotch area.
D. Thigh width: Measure straight across leg at crotch point.
E. Cuff width: Measure straight across at bottom of cuff, laying flat.
F. Inseam length: Measure from crotch seam in a straight line to bottom of leg.
G. Rise: Measure from lowest point in crotch seam to top of waistband, along seam, pants
laying flat.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Flammability requirements. The basic material shall conform to the rules and regulations of the
Flammable Fabrics Act without the application of a flame retardant finish to the material or to the end
item.
4.2 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or
environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the
material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically
advantageous life cycle costs.
