Defects. The gloves shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from irregularities or defects which affect performance, reliability, or durability. Commercial defects - any hole, cut, tear, drop stitch, thin area or mends; any smash, needle chew, burn lump, uncoated or abraded surface, or evidence of delamination on the outside of the gloves . Evidence of strike through of the coating on the inside of gloves affecting the comfort or function; color of the coating not as specified. Not plain or jersey knit; not 100% cotton base fabric, not polyvinyl chloride dipped. No inside seams nor a good gripping surface. Gloves not cut or fabricated in accordance with the product demonstration model. Any marking omitted, incorrect, illegible, or incomplete. Any dimensions less than minimum. Gloves not paired.
Packaging, Packing, Marking, and Palletization.
Packaging, packing, marking and palletization shall be in accordance with of ASTM-D 3951, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging, including section 7. The unit pack shall consist of 12 pairs of gloves, bundled and securely tied. The shipping container shall be packed with 144 pairs of gloves (12 bundles) of only one size and type, and shall be a single wall fiberboard box conforming to style RSC-L, Class Domestic, Variety SW, Grade 275, with a double wall liner, 200 of PPP-B-636.
Note: Each shipping container shall contain only one National Stock Number (NSN).
Unitized loads, placing boxes on pallets, shall be used whenever total quantity for shipment to one destination exceeds 250 pounds (excluding the pallet) or 20 cubic feet. Pallets shall have a length of 40 inches and a width of 48 inches. Pallet loads, including the pallet, shall not exceed 54 inches in height, 43 inches in length and 52 inches in width.
The containers shall be bonded onto wing type commercial 4-way entry pallets.
Note: All palletized loads shall contain only one NSN, to the maximum extent possible. When there is less than a pallet load per NSN, pallets may have containers not of the same NSN, but the pallet shall be clearly marked ‘“mixed” and each applicable NSN shall be listed together with its total quantity.
