3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, conforms to the producer’ e own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same as the product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
4. PACKAGING
4.1 Packaging. Each apron shall be folded in half across the length and then folded in half across the width. The folded apron shall measure approximately 23 by 15 inches. Twenty folded aprons of one type only, shall be neatly stacked in a bundle and securely tied with cotton tape or twine approximately 4 inches from each end.
4.2 Packing. One hundred aprons of one type only shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC-L, type CF. class domestic, variety SW, minimum grade 200 of PPP-B-636. The inside of each shipping container shall be fitted with a box liner conforming to type CF. class weather-resistant, variety DW, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Aprons, bundled as specified above, shall be packed flat, five in depth within the shipping container. Approximate dimensions of the shipping container shall be 24 inches in length, 16 inches in width, and 8 inches in depth. Each container shall have the contents completely covered on the top and bottom with a sheet of 30 pound minimum basis weight kraft paper conforming to type I, grade B of UU-P-268. Each shipping container shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636.
4.3 Palletization. When required, aprons shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with MIL-STD-147. Load type shall be Ia; bonding means shall be K and L, or O, or P and pallet pattern shall be number 3 of MIL-STD-147.
4.4 Marking. In addition to any special markings required by the contract or purchase order, unit packs, shipping containers, and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
5. NOTES
5.1 Intended use. The aprons are used by military personnel in hospital and dispensary laboratories.
5.2 Ordering data.
a. Title, number, and date of this document.
