COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
GLOVES, MEN’S AND WOMENS (WORK)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers men’s and women’s light duty work gloves.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The Gloves shall be of the following styles, as specified (see 7.3).
Style 1- Clute pattern, knit wrist cuff, regular size.
Style 2- Clute pattern, gauntlet, regular size.
Style 3- Reversible palm, pattern, knit wrist cuff, large size.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
3.1 Materials.
3.1.1Flannel fabric. The flannel fabric shall be unbleached, 100 percent cotton twill, napped on the filling side, woven from cleaned yarns, and shall meet the requirements listed in table 1.

3.1.2 Knit wrist cuff fabric. The knit wrist cuff fabric shall be 1 by 1 rib knit, seamless, unbleached cotton tubing with a minimum flat width of 2-1/4 inches (5.7 cm). The fabric weight shall be 12 to 14 square yards (10 to 11.7 sq m) per pound (per 0.45 kg) and shall have a minimum of 14 wales and 20 courses per inch (2.5 cm) when tested in accordance with ASTM D 3887.
