COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
APRON, FOOD HANDLER’S
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description by all Federal Agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers a clear plastic food handler’s apron with ties.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
2.1 Material. The apron shall be made from a clear plastic vinyl plastic is 0.008 to 0.001 inches (.20 + 0.03 mm) in thickness. The ties shall be cloth tape 1/2 inch (1.2 mm) wide minimum.
2.2 Construction. The apron shall be a bib-type apron similar in appearance to figure 1 and shall conform to the dimensions shown in figure 1. The apron shall have metal or plastic grommets inserted at both sides of the waistline and at the two points along the bib top. Metal grommets shall be corrosion resistant. The grommets shall be reinforced with an extra thickness of the apron material, formed by folding as shown in figure 1. The ties shall each be 30 inches long, minimum, one end of each tie shall be tied to the apron.
