SUIT, RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINANTS PROTECTIVE (VINYL)
The Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
Salient Characteristics
The suit, radioactive contaminants protective shall be a two-piece design made of 8 gauge polyvinyl chloride film, yellow in color and free of pin holes. It shall consist of a pullover body style jumper and trousers. The jumper shall have elastic attached at the neck and wrist openings of the full length sleeves. The elastic shall be attached either with a 301, 304 or 401 stitch and a BSa-1 seam or it can be encased in heat sealed tunnels. The leg openings of the trousers may be finished with or without elastic. The joining seams shall be SSa-1 type, heat sealed (non-embossed) to finish on the inside of the garment. The bottom of the jumper and the waist of the trousers shall be finished as heat sealed tunnels with elastic encased. The suit shall be extra large size having the following dimensions when measured flat:
